Dyno testing a 2015 Polaris Slingshot with a Hahn Racecraft turbo kit at Braun’s

Dyno testing a 2015 Polaris Slingshot with a Hahn Racecraft turbo kit at Braun’s Muscle Car and Hot Rod Restoration in Lomita, CA using a Dynocom in-floor chassis dyno. The testing was started on a stock Slingshot with a cold air kit, using the stock MEFI 6 ecm, and the baseline dyno figures are shown. The Hahn turbo kit was installed in one day and testing proceeded, maximum boost pressure was ~ 6 psi. The ecm was tuned using software developed by OBD Diagnostics Inc, found at www.mefiburn.com. Initial pulls were done to baseline the vehicle pre-turbo install, and then successive pulls were done post turbo installation by editing and modifying the calibration. The vehicle baselined at 160.7 rwhp and 168.4 ft/lbs of torque. After turbo installation a baseline turbo calibration yielded 222.2 rwhp and 263.4 ft/lbs of torque as shown. Further testing and tuning yielded 257.7 rwhp and 295.6 ft/lbs of torque. Peak torque was at 3600 rpm and peak hp was at 5500 rpm, rpm limiting begins at 6400 rpm. Total gains were 97 rwhp and 127.2 ft/lbs of torque. www.BraunsAutomotive.com

Dyno testing 2015 Polaris Slingshot at Braun’s Muscle Car and Hot Rod Restoration in Lomita, CA using a Dynocom in-floor chassis dyno. This testing is on a completely stock Slingshot, using the stock MEFI 6 ecm. The ecm was tuned using software developed by OBD Diagnostics Inc, found at www.mefiburn.com. Initial pulls were done to baseline the vehicle, and then successive pulls were done by editing and modifying the calibration. The vehicle baselined at 160.0 rwhp and 162.2 ft/lbs of torque. Peak hp and torque from doing a tune only was 170.9 rwhp and 179.9 ft/lbs of torque. With the air inlet duct removed and the throttle body open the peak hp improved to 173.8 rwhp. The stock inlet ducting proved to be a restriction, pulling 5kpa of vacuum above 6000rpm (95kpa vs. 100kpa). Peak torque was at 4300 rpm and peak hp was at 5600 rpm. Factory redline is set at 7200 rpm, dyno runs were stopped at 6600 rpm as power fell there sharply. www.BraunsAutomotive.com
